A teacher, without a stitch of clothing, dashed out of his home to rescue a 15-year-old girl from being sexually assaulted.
David Garza was taking it easy at home last Sunday, July 28, when he suddenly heard a desperate scream for help outside his place in Houston, Texas, just before midnight.
Without a second thought, the middle school teacher peered outside his apartment complex on Woodforest Boulevard to figure out what was causing the commotion.
When he realized it was a young girl in danger, he rushed upstairs, grabbed his gun, and hurried out the front of his property wearing nothing but his underwear.
Talking about the harrowing experience to KHOU 11, Garza explained, “I looked out the window and I saw a man beating up a woman on the ground, and he was trying to take her clothes off.”
He continued, “I ran upstairs, I grabbed my pistol and then I came outside and I asked ‘what’s going on’ and the girl screamed ‘I’m 15 help me,’ so I pointed my gun at him and told him to get off her.”
Garza then added, “He took his hands off her right away, and he went chasing after her, so I went chasing after him and she got away, she went to someone she knew’s apartment.”
“I was scared too I’m not going to lie, but she needed help more than I was afraid, so I had to do it,” Garza admitted.
The entire incident was caught on camera, and in the footage, Garza can be heard yelling at the attacker, “hey, hey, hey come here,” before he starts running toward them.
One of Garza’s young female neighbors spoke out about his brave actions, telling the TV station that he saved the teen from a potential rape.
She said, “At first, I was scared, because I literally thought she was going to get raped. I think if he didn’t come out, she probably would have got raped or something.”
Garza has since been hailed as a local hero for stopping the attack from going any further.
It appears the teen was on the bus with the attacker. When she got off, he followed her into the gated apartment complex.
Once inside the community, he launched his vile attack while she was on her way to visit a friend, as explained by a neighbor who knows the girl.
