Missing 21-Year-Old Joyce Catherine Badon Found Passed After Texas Floods

The devastating July 4, 2025, floods in Texas have claimed over 100 lives, including 21-year-old Joyce Catherine Badon and two young campers, 9-year-old Lila Bonner and 8-year-old Eloise Peck. Joyce was swept away in Hunt, Texas, while attending a holiday gathering with friends. Trapped by rising floodwaters, she managed to send a final text to her parents before the house collapsed.

Her body was found days later. Her friends—Aidan Heartfield, Reese Manchaca, and Ella Cahill—were also swept away. Only Reese’s body has since been recovered.

Meanwhile, at Camp Mystic in Kerr County, Lila and Eloise, best friends and cabinmates, died together when flash floods struck their summer camp. As of July 6, a third Dallas camper, Hadley Hanna, remained missing. Eleven campers and one counselor were still unaccounted for.

Grieving families and communities across Texas have united in mourning and prayer, remembering the victims as bright, loving individuals taken far too soon.
