An extremely rare find in the field of archaeology

the find of a 6th century AD arrow, complete with head, shaft and attached feathered fletching.
It was perfectly preserved due to being covered by a now quickly disappearing ice field near Lillehammer, Norway.
It was removed via carefully applying warm water to the site, photographing the process in case it became damaged and then removing it to the nearby research and artefact facilty for display and further study. This remarkable find was made possible by the good work of the “secrets of the Ice” team, Norway.
