Yasmine Bleeth, who rose to fame in the 1990s television series Baywatch as Caroline Holden, has seen both highs and lows in her career.
Career Beginnings and Ascent to Stardom
She was born and raised in New York and began her acting career at the age of twelve,
starring with comedian Buddy Hackett as Theresa, an orphan in the 1983 film Hey Babe.
Her acting career began when she received early recognition for her performance. She began acting at the age of sixteen in the daytime serial opera Ryan’s Hope, which ran until 1989.
She started acting again in One Life to Live after her mother passed away, and she went on to appear in Herman’s Head and Baywatch.
Success at Baywatch and Personal Challenges
Bleeth became well-known for her role as Caroline Holden on Baywatch, which ran from 1993 to 1997. Her popularity won her a place in 72 episodes, even though she was only supposed to appear in one.
Her portrayal of Stephanie Holden’s younger sister struck a chord with viewers, and she costarred with David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, and other well-known actors.
She was featured on People’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1995 and FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World multiple times between 1996 and 2001 as a result of her success on Baywatch.
However, her battles with cocaine addiction presented obstacles for her career. Following her role in Baywatch, she starred in films including Undercover Angel and BASEketball, as well as TV series like Nash Bridges.
Due to her drug abuse, she was known to arrive late to work and had personal problems that affected her work, which caused her to face challenges in her career. In an open interview, Bleeth said that although her addiction began socially, it soon got out of control, resulting in serious health issues and a stay in treatment. She met Paul Cerrito, her future husband, while undergoing treatment, and they were married in 2002.
A More Calm Life
Bleeth withdrew from the spotlight after leaving Baywatch; her final significant role was in Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding in 2003.
After leading a more solitary existence for almost two decades, she resumed her acting career in the comedy Whack the Don in 2021. IMDb shows three forthcoming titles for her as of February 2024.
She appears to keep a quiet profile but yet enjoys her moments in the spotlight. In 2020, she was captured on camera strolling her dog in California, and in June 2023, she was seen getting dressed up for a sushi lunch in the San Fernando Valley.
