Television talent shows and the Internet have made people famous overnight. A good example of this is what happened in 2009 when a Scottish singer, Susan Boyle, became famous with a single song.
When Susan Boyle was on Britain’s Got Talent, you could’ve heard a pin drop after she performed, ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. I don’t think anybody was expecting it but she was a different person in their minds when she stepped off the stage.
Despite the fact that Susan has had difficulties during her personal life, especially when growing up, she has gone on to become an inspiration for many. She was born in Blackburn, West Lothian and she always was singing.
Despite the fact that she dealt with bullying because of learning difficulties when she was a child, she continued to have a passion for music. It eventually led her to the stage and to a life that is very different from what it was when she was younger.
After that original showing, Susan Boyle went on to become extremely successful. She released a number of albums including her I Dreamed a Dream, which became a best-selling album in 2009 globally. She even won a Grammy nomination, when on world tours, and has sold millions of records.
One of the moments that many people will always remember was during a live performance. She sang Stand by Me, a classic song that really showed how amazing her vocal range was.
The level of emotion that the song carried resonated with everyone who was in the audience that day. It also showed how she could take almost any song and breathe new life into it.
