A Show That Was Once Cancelled Has Now Become One Of The Most Popular Titles On Netflix Worldwide

A Netflix show, previously cancelled, has surged to become one of the platform’s top-watched series. Originally airing on NBC in 2018, it ran for three seasons.

Netflix has gained a reputation for discontinuing beloved series, often after just one season, despite their popularity with audiences.

On the other hand, these shows often find new life on the streaming platform, even years after being canceled.

One prime example is a drama about people on a missing flight.

When they return home, they realize they’ve been gone for five years.

The series follows their challenges as they adjust back to everyday life.

If you haven’t already guessed, the show in question is Manifest, which Netflix revived for a fourth season after it was canceled by its original broadcaster, NBC.

Originally airing on NBC in 2018, Manifest ran for three seasons.

However, in June 2021, NBC announced it would not renew the show for a fourth season, despite interest from fans.

Just a few months later, in August 2021, Netflix acquired the rights to Manifest and greenlit another season.

Since then, Manifest has become a significant success for the streaming platform, emerging as one of its most-watched shows globally.

According to a 2022 report from Variety, the first few episodes of the fourth season accumulated an impressive 57.1 million hours of viewing within the initial three days of streaming availability.

Manifest wrapped up its storyline with the fourth and final season in June 2023, garnering ongoing praise from both fans and critics.

The fourth season currently holds a commendable 88 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Nicole Gallucci, from the Decider, said: “Trust us. Manifest pulls out all the stops in its final batch of episodes to prove itself worthy of surviving its own Death Date back in 2021.”

Unfortunately, due to licensing reasons, only seasons one, two and four are available to stream on Netflix in Ireland and the UK.
